Integrated Microfinance Bank (MFB) Plc was incorporated as a wholly indigenous limited liabilitycompany on June 16, 2006 following the grant of an approval-in-principle by the Central Bank of Nigeria on 31st May 2006. Preparation of documentations for licensing commenced in December 2005, upon the official launching of the micro finance policy in Nigeria by the then President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
